I don't know Im guessing people are starting to miss the stability and just having a tool that works again, so people are starting to integrate more hardware again now. I know Akai dropped the price on it a couple hundred bucks but theyre starting to show up on eBay lower and lower now. Lately it seems the REAL MPCs are creeping up, and the used Lives are starting to go down a bit heh. Its kinda funny, my goal is to eventually replace the MPC Software with either a Live or like a 5000. Theyre still fairly cheap over here (LA must be FULL of them). Over at DOA, we were recently talking about an EPS+16 and apparently over there in the UK they are going for a couple hundred more than they usually do around here. You gotta search for awhile to find a good one at an E5000s or an EPS's price.Īlso seems to depend on where you are.
Ive always seen them around $500 or so average, on par with a decent condition and upgraded MPC2000. They've always held a decent value compared to lots of other 90s samplers out there. Sometimes you can find them cheap as hell, but something is usually wrong with it. The ASR10 is one of those old samplers that never really lost its magic for some reason. No need for any computer samplers other than the MPC, and thats because its basically my DAW now. Hard drive inside the E5000 is big enough I can actually fit my entire sample library on it if I wanted to, and to me both of those are a lot easier to setup and get going than Kontakt.
